JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Description:
Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. (Ryerson) is one of the largest metals distributors in North America. Ryerson is currently seeking an Advanced Electronics Technician to join the Maintenance team in Norcross, GA. Under the supervision of the Facilities/Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be a team leader involved in maintaining and upgrading machinery for the Norcross campus.
Desired candidate would use his/her skills to provide technical support for industrial applications including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic repairs and preventative maintenance. Individual must be highly skilled in designing, programming, testing, provisioning, deploying, and supporting electronic equipment and associated systems in an engineering environment.
Ability to prioritize and work calmly on critical systems under significant time pressure is a must. Must have great attention to detail and adherence to standards. Proficeincies and experience in below tasks are a must:
Address safety hazards identified by safety committee
Implementation of programming software to develop or improve systems and associated equipment for industrial applications
PLC Controlled Systems Design, Installation, and troubleshooting
Problem Identification & Resolution
Project Scheduling & Management
Quality Control & Assurance
Data network infrastructure design and troubleshooting
General knowledge of card access and security systems a plus
Ability to handle electrical installations of various industrial equipment
Lock Out / Tag Out
Inspection, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
Ability to read and understand Blueprints & Schematics
Training & Team Leadership
Conduct studies and performed functional analysis on Automatic Control Systems to support finding and make recommendations for improvements on current and future technological changes
Act as liaison to coordinate plans between contractors and base technical-management personnel
Facilitate strong communications between cross-functional teams and personnel
Use organizational skills to manage his time and parts supply room
Technical degree required
5 years experience in field or equivalent work
Must have the ability to work other shifts
Must be able to read blue prints, schematics to enable the trouble shooting skill set
Strong troubleshooting and repair abilities in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment
Good communication, mathematical, technical reasoning and computer skills required
